Foodies of the island rejoice! Three street food events are approaching celebrating flavours from around the world as well as local delicacies. Recipes from Asia, the US, rural Cyprus and more will be featured as chefs prepare delicious meals.
Coming up this weekend is the first Indian Food Festival in Nicosia. Organised by the Cyprus India Culture Association, the event will showcase Indian cuisine, north and south Indian dishes, Gujarati and central Indian specialities and traditional sweets this Sunday at Eleftheria Square. From 11am to 4pm, visitors will get to taste Indian dishes, enjoy kirtan music and dance performances.
Next weekend, the 4th Street Food and Art Festival will take place in Palaichori village promising plenty of fun, art, entertainment and, of course, local flavours. Held at the village’s park on October 12, hot and cold dishes will be sold alongside street food stands featuring Cypriot flavours and international cuisine. For those with a sweet tooth, crepes, loukoumades and shamishi will be available as well. Chef Christos Christodoulou will present a live cooking demonstration while photo corners and kid’s activities take place too.
Then on October 18, a celebratory Fork Food market will take place at the Nicosia Municipal Gardens from 6pm onwards, to mark 10 years since the event series started.
