Petrolina and its affiliated company, PPT Aviation Services Ltd, were honoured at a special event held at the Presidential Palace, in recognition of their significant contribution to the annual Telethon campaign, and support for the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics, (CING), whose mission is to help patients with myopathies and to promote research for neuromuscular, genetic, and neurological diseases.

Georgia Lefkariti, Executive Advisor of Petrolina (Holdings) Public Ltd, and Dimitris Mavromichalos, General Manager of PPT Aviation Services Ltd, received the award from First Lady Philippa Karsera and Professor Leonidas Phylactou, Executive General Director and Medical Director of the CING.

Since 2011, Petrolina and PPT Aviation Services have been steadfast in their commitment to the Telethon, providing fuel for one of its most successful fundraising initiatives, the annual “Wings of Hope Trip”.

Since its inception in 1994, the Telethon—an initiative of the CING and the Cyprus Muscular Dystrophy Association—has become a vital force in Cyprus, offering essential care to patients, driving innovative research, and raising awareness about health issues.

In addition, since 2018, the companies have championed the next generation of scientists by offering merit scholarships to CING postgraduate students, supporting vital research and innovation in the field of neurological diseases.

Moreover, since 2014, Petrolina has been providing fuel vouchers to students and furthered its support through a variety of initiatives that continue to bolster the Telethon’s mission.
