The ninth Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, showcasing Italian culinary traditions with a focus on its roots and the Mediterranean diet, will take place in Cyprus from November 16 to 22.
Organised by the Italian Embassy in Nicosia in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) in Beirut and the Mediterranean Hotel in Limassol, the event will feature the experiential exhibition ‘Bollicine – Sparkling Italy: Wine and the Arts’.
The exhibition, hosted at the Mediterranean Hotel from November 16 to 22 and free of charge, is open to the public and offers a sensory exploration of Italian sparkling wines and their cultural significance.
The event’s inauguration will take place on November 16 at 6pm with a lecture by Dr Emanuela Panke, curator of the event and General Manager of ‘Iter Vitis’, a European cultural initiative dedicated to promoting wine culture and wine tourism. Italian Ambassador to Cyprus Federica Ferrari Bravo will also speak at the opening.
Dr Panke’s work spans over two decades, focusing on rural tourism marketing and wine heritage. Her expertise includes EU tourism development programmes across Europe, along with consultancy roles in the Middle East and Central Asia.
She has held leadership roles within the ‘Iter Vitis’ network, promoting the historical and cultural significance of vineyards across Europe.
In addition to the exhibition, a dinner will be held on November 17 at ‘Il Tinello’ restaurant at the Mediterranean Hotel in Limassol.
The dinner, requiring advance reservation, will feature a special menu designed to celebrate the ninth Week of Italian Cuisine in the World. Reservations can be made by phone at 2555 9999.
