Two young men accused of firing shots at a wedding party in Mesogi last August pleaded not guilty to all charges in a Paphos court on Thursday.

The defendants, both 23 years old, face multiple charges related to the use and handling of firearms and explosives.

According to court statements, the charges against them include the unlawful use of a firearm during a closed hunting season, in addition to possessing, transporting, and using explosives without the necessary permits from the Inspector of Explosives.

The Paphos district court has scheduled October 23, 2025, as the date for the trial’s commencement.

Following their not-guilty pleas, the court granted bail to the defendants at the request of their defence attorney Elias Satolias.

The two were initially arrested on September 2 after a video of the shooting incident at the wedding ceremony surfaced on social media.
