Another exhibition joins the Limassol cultural scene this December. Kaleidoscope is set to open next week at Lumiere Contemporary Art Gallery presenting works by Irina Pakhmutova, a distinguished Russian artist currently based in Cyprus. Running from December 12 to January 4, the showcase invites viewers to explore an intricate world where fragments of memory, nature and human experience converge to create a harmonious, multi-layered vision.

“Kaleidoscope embodies Irina’s vision of the world as an assemblage of fragments that, when combined, form a cohesive and profound pattern,” says the gallery. “The exhibition invites viewers to contemplate the interplay of nature, emotion and identity through artworks that echo the dynamic beauty of a kaleidoscope. Each piece is crafted to evoke personal associations, encouraging audiences to find parallels between their own experiences and the intricate patterns Irina brings to life.”

Two key themes of the exhibition are that of growth and resilience. The displayed works of art depict nature’s relentless pursuit of light, symbolised by a seed striving toward the sun. The significance of nature and its connection with humans underscores the artist’s belief that even in moments of darkness, there is the possibility of seeing light and moving forward.

“Kaleidoscope is a testament to finding harmony in the chaotic,” concludes the gallery, “and discovering oneself through the many patterns that shape our shared human experience.”
