EAC currently requires people pay a monthly subscription to use their public car charging network (€6 per month).
It’s the only charging network I’ve found in Europe that has that requirement. However, it’s completely incompatible with tourism. Tourists cannot charge!
Imagine if tourists needed to sign up for a monthly membership subscription before they were allowed to fill up at petrol stations here.
Additionally for locals, filling up at a public charger is typically opportunistic, as it’s common to charge up at home. Most drivers only use public chargers occasionally on road trips, so requiring subscriptions is not a logical business model.
