Kazakhstan plans to soon open an embassy in Cyprus, its government confirmed on Monday.
The decision was relayed during a meeting in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, between the permanent secretary of the foreign ministry and Kazakhstan’s deputy foreign minister Roman Vassilenko.
In a statement later, the foreign ministry welcomed the decision, noting it comes on the back of the Republic of Cyprus recently opening an embassy in Astana.
Vassilenko and Andreas Kakouris, the foreign ministry’s permanent secretary, discussed ways of further boosting bilateral relations – including in the areas of investment, tourism and consular services.
