Emerging European tech ecosystem takes centre stage
Athens will soon be the site of the Doers Summit 2025, a new event set to highlight the rising stars of Emerging Europe’s startup ecosystem.
Scheduled for February, the summit will take place at the historic Technopolis venue, offering more than just another tech conference.
According to the announcement, “it promises to foster meaningful collaboration between top founders, investors, and operators in the region.”
Organised by the team behind Reflect Festival, based in Cyprus, the summit aims to elevate emerging tech ecosystems on the global stage.
Stylianos Lambrou, Co-founder and CEO of The Doers Company said, “The energy in Emerging Europe’s startup scene is palpable.”
He added that “What’s missing is a platform that unites its most ambitious players with a focus on action, not just talk. The Doers Summit aims to fill that gap.”
The announcement also mentioned that “Unlike traditional conferences, the Doers Summit is designed to focus on results.”
The event operates on an application-only basis, selecting participants based on their impact in the startup ecosystem, with a cap of 2,000 attendees.
Dusan Duffek, Co-founder and Managing Partner of The Doers Company, added that, “We’re bringing together the people who make things happen—those who are building, funding, and scaling startups right now. This is where deals will be made, and ideas will take flight.”
The summit will feature keynote speakers such as Lars Rasmussen, Co-founder of Google Maps; Apostolos Apostolakis, Founding Partner of VentureFriends; Markus Fuhrmann, CEO and Co-founder of GROPYUS; Andrew Yeung, Founder & CEO of Fibe; and George Chatzigeorgiou, CEO & Co-Founder, Skroutz.
The event arrives at a key moment for Emerging Europe, a region that, despite its surging startup scene, increasing venture capital interest, and exceptional talent pool, has long been overlooked on the global stage.
According to the announcement, it said, “The Doers Summit 2025 is positioned to change that narrative by providing a platform for the region’s brightest minds to connect and make a tangible impact.”
Athens’ role in hosting this summit is seen as a significant step in its evolution as a modern hub for innovation.
“Athens isn’t just a historic city; it’s becoming a tech and creative hub, with the infrastructure and talent to match,” Lambrou said.
The summit also aligns with a broader trend towards decentralising innovation, as traditional tech hubs such as Silicon Valley face saturation.
It is also mentioned that “Emerging Europe and the GCC are increasingly becoming the next frontiers for growth, offering not just tech innovation but the potential for reshaping economies, creating jobs, and driving sustainable cross-border innovation.”
Journalists attending the summit can expect to hear not only from leading industry figures but also to uncover the untold stories of resilience and creativity from some of the most exciting players in the tech world.
The inaugural edition of the Doers Summit in Athens is made possible through the invaluable support of key partners such as payabl., XM, Skroutz, and the National Bank of Greece.
Their commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration within the emerging tech ecosystem highlights the critical role that strategic partnerships play in driving the future of the industry.
