Proodos Public Ltd, owner of the Rodon Hotel in Agros, has announced three board appointments and three resignations this week.

The company confirmed the appointment of main shareholder and investor Balram Chainrai as a non-executive director.

Based in Hong Kong, Chainrai has longstanding business activity in the region, with a focus on electronics, household appliances, toys and trade finance.

His company, which also handles computer distribution and related accessories, reports an annual turnover of over 200 million US dollars across Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

He has also served as vice president of the Indian chamber of commerce in Hong Kong and maintains an active philanthropic presence.

Chainrai recently completed a public offer, securing 87.82 per cent participation in the Rodon Hotel.

As a result, his investment interest in Cyprus’ rural hotel sector and development plans for Rodon have drawn growing attention from the hospitality and tourism sector.

Also joining the board, as a non-executive, independent director, is Arun Kumar Jairam—a seasoned entrepreneur and retail professional with over 20 years of experience across offline and online markets.

Jairam has led and scaled start-ups in the retail and manufacturing sectors, thereby bringing strategic and operational expertise to the role.

Meanwhile, Limassol-based lawyer Christos Neokleous has been appointed as a non-executive, non-independent director.

A member of the Cyprus Bar Association since 1991, Neokleous studied law in Athens and the UK and runs his own legal practice in Limassol.

The appointments come alongside the resignations of Dimos Dimou, Andreas Stavrinos and Marios Dimou from the board of directors.

In addition, Dimou and Stavrinos have also stepped down from the company’s audit committee.

New members of the committee are expected to be appointed at the next board meeting.
