What is the invisible side of public spaces? That is what artists and citizens are being asked to consider at an upcoming event this Saturday. Held as part of the 22nd Summer Dance Festival which takes place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the event is hosted by Lemesos 2030 in collaboration with the Nea Kinisi of Dancers and Choreographers of Cyprus.
Titled The Invisible Side of Public Spaces, the discussion will delve into the evolving relationship between artists and the city’s public spaces. Starting at 5.30pm at Anagennisi Park in Limassol, attendees will be invited to on reflect how artists experience, engage with and reimagine the urban environment.
From interventions and performances to everyday interactions, the conversation aims to explore the visible and invisible layers of city life through an artistic lens.
Moderated by architect and cultural heritage researcher Sevina Floridou, this exchange of views promises to inspire fresh reflections on artistic practice in shared spaces. The event is free and open to all.
“Come share your thoughts,” say the organisers, “and enjoy fresh lemonade and ice cream.”
