The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Keve) on Friday announced that the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation has launched the first session of its 2025 training programme on Japanese business culture.

The initiative, known as “Get Ready for Japan”, is a two-week programme designed to help European entrepreneurs better understand Japanese business practices and communication styles.

The training will run in two parts, with the first session taking place online from October 20-24, 2025, and the second in Tokyo from November 10-14, 2025.

The announcement also mentioned that applications must be submitted by September 4, 2025.

Since 1987, this exclusive programme, funded by the European Union, has helped hundreds of EU-based entrepreneurs establish a successful presence in the Japanese market.

“The programme ‘Get Ready for Japan’ aims to help understand Japanese business practices and communication styles as well as help SMEs identify opportunities for successful business partnerships,” the announcement stated.

The training includes workshops, seminars, company visits, and tailored meetings with potential new partners.

The mission is specifically targeted at managers and executives from small and medium-sized enterprises based in the EU, and is open to any sector of activity.

To ensure a high level of individual attention, participation is limited to 14 individuals. A selection process will follow the application deadline.

Candidates will be evaluated based on their company’s strategy towards Japan, their professional background and role within the company, and their motivation to participate.

The EU-Japan Centre will cover all the training fees. This includes speakers, room rental, transportation for group activities, interpreters and organisation of meetings.

However, companies are expected to cover their own travel, accommodation, and living expenses.
