Government spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis said on Thursday the repatriation of Cypriots from Israel and Iran was continuing.

Six, he said, had left Iran and were now in Armenia awaiting arrangements to be brought to the island. One of them had travelled to Armenia on Thursday.

He added that so far 31 Cypriots had been repatriated, including four patients on Wednesday and another five patients on Thursday, all with their escorts.

Letymbiotis clarified that no Cypriot patients were in Soroka hospital in Beersheba that was hit by Iranian missiles.

Through Estia, a total of 213 foreign nationals have been brought out of the war-torn region via Cyprus. The latest flight organised by Portugal landed at 2am with five Cypriots among the passengers.

Meanwhile, nine Cypriots and members of their families who had fled Israel arrived in Cyprus on board commercial flights from Athens on Wednesday night.

The individuals had travelled to Greece via Egypt on Hellenic Air Force planes.

In a post on X on Thursday, the foreign ministry expressed its “sincere gratitude” to the Greek government.

It also said it was continuing the provision of consulate assistance to Cypriots in Israel through the embassy in Tel Aviv.

On Wednesday, it was announced that Greeks and members of their families, as well as Cypriots and nationals from other countries, were repatriated from Israel through Egypt in an operation coordinated by the Greek foreign ministry and its embassies in Tel Aviv and Cairo and the consulate in Jerusalem.

A statement from the Greek ministry said the repatriation of 105 people was completed safely on Wednesday.

The repatriated individuals were transported to Athens from Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt, via C-130 and C-27 aircraft of the Hellenic Air Force.

Greece also facilitated the return of people from European and third countries, including Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Georgia, Switzerland, the USA, Italy, Cyprus, Lithuania, Hungary, Portugal, Romania and Sweden.

The ministry said it remains fully prepared to provide any necessary assistance, along with its diplomatic and consular authorities in the region.
