A 29-year-old was arrested on Tuesday in the framework of police investigations into the possession of drugs and explosives.

The police said on Wednesday this was the eighth person to be arrested in connection with the case.

Six people had initially been arrested on May 25 after police searched buildings, vehicles and a boat in Limassol, finding 540g of cannabis, 31 bullets and €120,105 in cash.

Two of the suspects had been released after questioning and the others had been charged with conspiracy, illegal possession of drugs and money laundering.

The 29-year-old will be taken before the Limassol district court on Wednesday for a remand order.
