Police report 84 individuals and two businesses for violating Covid-19 measures

Eighty-four individuals and two businesses were booked during the past 24 hours for violations of the measures against the spread of coronavirus, police said on Sunday.

In total 5,932 checks were carried out.

According to a police press officer, in Nicosia, 1,318 checks were carried out and 16 citizens were booked. In Limassol, police booked 41 people and one business after 1,240 checks.

In Larnaca, 1,054 checks were carried out and five citizens were fined.

Moreover, 14 citizens and one establishment were reported by the police in Paphos after 828 checks.

In Famagusta, 695 checks were carried out and seven people were booked.

In Morphou a total of 563 checks were carried out with zero fines.

Furthermore, the Cyprus Port & Marine Police carried out 29 checks with no reports, while no violations of Covid-19 measures were reported at the airports.

The Traffic Department, however, reported one person in a total of 205 checks island-wide.
