Coronavirus: Random check on driver leads to string of violations

Paphos police on Sunday evening arrested a man for traffic violations, driving under the influence of drugs and violating coronavirus measures.

At around 8pm on Sunday, officers stopped a car driven by a 24-year-old man for a routine inspection.

They found he was driving with an expired learner’s licence and without insurance while the car had no MOT and was not registered.

He was also in possession of three grammes of cannabis and tested positive for drugs.

In addition, he had breached Covid regulations as he was driving without an SMS permission.
