EU Health Commissioner’s home staked out by German newspaper reporters

Eu Commissioner Kyriakides Holds News Conference In Brussels
European Commissioner in charge of Health Stella Kyriakides

Reporters from Germany’s popular Bild newspaper have reportedly been camped outside of EU Health Commissioner’s Stella Kyriakides’ Nicosia home, it emerged on Sunday.

According to Sigmalive, the journalists have been trying to get comments from Kyriakides’ neighbours in relation to the vaccines and the EU rollout programme which has been criticized over delays and been described as a disaster.

The news portal said it picked up on the story from disgruntled neighbours who called Sigmalive to complain. Residents have also allegedly pointed out that the journalists were not seen to be adhering to the mask rules.

German outlets Focus Online and mass-circulation Bild, have already published pieces raising questions as to whether Kyriakides was in fact up to the job of dealing with major pharmaceutical companies in relation to Covid-19 vaccines – and some went as far to question whether she got the position based on who she knew back in Cyprus rather than on merit.
