With large numbers of people returning to work and a high number of tests carried out over the weekend, the health ministry on Monday reminded the public that all employees must continue to get tested according to government guidelines.

“The increased number of tests has been a central pillar of the government from the beginning, as it reflects the epidemiological picture in real time, leading to taking measures and notably to the planning of a de-escalation,” a statement said.

Aiming at monitoring the workplaces, and in order to achieve the smooth re-opening of companies, 208,000 people or one quarter of the population have taken the test between February 1 and 7.

But the tests are continuing, the ministry said, reminding of the protocol.

In businesses that employ up to three people, all must be tested weekly, while those with four to 10 people must ensure at least four are tested each week. Companies with more than 10 people need to make sure at least four people or 20 per cent of employees, whichever is greater in number, are tested weekly.

Also, all athletes aged 18 or older and employees in sports facilities are required to take an initial test. Those over the age of 12 are also encouraged to do so.

At least 50 per cent of employees and athletes of team sports need to repeat the tests weekly. Weekly testing is also recommended for other athletes.

All those taking part in training regardless of their age have to send an SMS asking for permission, selecting category 6 for physical exercise.

Minors who do not have a mobile phone need to be in possession of a document signed by parents or guardians which states they are allowed to participate in training.

For control purposes, parents / legal guardians may use Form B to transport the child to and from the training area, provided they provide proof of the date and time of the activity.

The ministry also reminded that a maximum of two non-work outings are permitted per day, and an SMS covering each must be sent to 8998 according to nine categories of movement.

An SMS is not required for parents / legal guardians taking children to school or kindergarten.

Employees on their way to and from work must have Form A, signed by their employer, with them.

On Monday, 59 testing units will be operating as follows:
