Scepovic nets his second goal of the game and fourth since joining Omonia in January

Omonia and Nea Salmina raised the curtain for round 24 of the Cyprus football championship on Tuesday evening, with the Greens taking the three points with consumate ease after a 2-0 win in Nicosia.

The goals came in the first half with Omonia left-back Lecjaks the provider and their winter signing Scepovic the executioner on both occasions.

Omonia opened the score in the 14th minute after Lecjaks’ cross was headed into the net by the unmarked Scepovic.

Just after the half-hour mark Scepovic scored his second with a simple tap-in following Lecjaks’ pin-point cross.

It was all too easy for Omonia who had a number of other opportunities to increase their lead but Nea Salamina goalkeeper Vezelofsky stood firm.

In the second half Omonia stepped down a gear but still controlled the game and were rarely troubled by a tepid performance from the visitors.

It was not until the 60th minute that Salamina had their first attempt on goal with Wagner missing the target from close range.
