Hollywood actor Julian Sands is in Cyprus until February 24 as he begins shooting for his role in the upcoming horror film The Ghosts of Monday.

Having starred alongside actors such as Jackie Chan, worked with Walt Disney Studios, appeared in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and the BBC – Sands’ new role for Cypriot film company Altadium Group has piqued local interest.

The British actor is to work alongside local talent and other European actors, the Cyprus Mail was told on Tuesday by the Altadium Group.

“It was difficult to organise because of the coronavirus restrictions but Cyprus was chosen because it’s an ideal location: the views are beautiful, the people are friendly and we have experience with filming in Cyprus and everything works perfectly well,” Lera Barber of Altadium Group told the Cyprus Mail.

Their third project, the other two being S.O.S and Portrait of God – which were also shot in Cyprus – Barber said that Altadium Group is excited to work alongside world class talent such as Italian screenwriter Francesco Cinquemani and other fantastic actors.

The film being shot in Cyprus follows the shooting on the island in 2019 of Jiu Jitsu, which starred Nicolas Cage.
