Coronavirus: 156 persons booked, 89 of them in the Limassol district

During 24 hours from 6am on Monday until 6am on Tuesday police carried out 12,288 checks to curb the spread of Covid-19 and booked 156 individuals, the vast majority, 89, in Limassol.

One of the individuals booked in Limassol is the owner of a café who was serving four customers. He was fined €1,500 while each of the customers were handed a fine of €300.

2,426 inspections were conducted in Nicosia, 2,703 in Limassol, 2,235 in Larnaca, 1,854 in Paphos, 1,179 in Morphou and 1,318 in Famagusta.

Traffic police carried out an additional 489 checks, the rapid response unit 15 and marine police 69.
