In this video, we meet Shagun Singh, a former investment banker, who, unfulfilled by the corporate path, quit her job in 2014, and moved to Nainital in Uttarakhand, a state in the north of India, to start over.
Singh wanted a place where she could build a home with her own hands and live sustainably, and eventually chose a barren piece of land in Mahrora, a village close to Nainital. There, she began making mud houses, and realised it was important to pass on her newfound skills to others.
This led to her founding the training centre Geeli Mitti, where, today, people from all over the world come to learn a range of sustainable mud construction techniques.
