Covid-positive Limassol Bishop admitted to hospital ‘as a precaution’ (updated)

Bishop Athanasios of Limassol

Limassol Bishop Athanasios was admitted to Nicosia general hospital on Wednesday a day after testing positive for coronavirus.

A written statement from the bishopric said he was admitted purely as a precaution, to undergo tests on the advice of his doctors.

“He has mild symptoms and his health condition is stable,” the statement said.

The 62-year-old tested positive for the virus on Tuesday during the weekly tests carried out at the bishopric.
