The cabinet will convene again on Friday to decide on any new Covid-19 measures after consultations with the epidemiology experts, it was announced on Thursday.

Deputy government spokesman Panayiotis Sentonas said Health Minister Constantinos Ioannou briefed the cabinet on Thursday about the epidemiological situation, but no decisions were taken.

Instead, the president will meet on Thursday evening with the epidemiological advisory committee at the Presidential Palace in order to hear their views.

“During tomorrow’s meeting of the National Council, the president of the Republic will inform the political leaders about the epidemiological situation in the country and will listen to their views,” Sentonas said.

Final decisions will be taken by the council of ministers, which will convene at 11.30am on Friday, he added.
