Coronavirus: 7,200 checks, 126 booked

Police booked 126 persons for breaches of coronavirus protocols in 24 hours leading up to 6am on Wednesday. One of them is the owner of a business in Paphos.

Officers carried out 7,200 checks during this time, 1,342 in Nicosia, 1,341 in Limassol, 1,258 in Larnaca, 701 in Paphos, 979 in Famagusta and 879 in the Morphou district.

20 persons were fined in Nicosia, 53 in Limassol, 12 in Larnaca, 18 in Paphos, 13 in Famagusta and one in Morphou.

Traffic police conducted 644 inspections, resulting in nine persons being charged.
