Nine companies make up the list of Cyprus’ Best Workplaces™ 2021 as chosen by researcher Great Place to Work® Cyprus. The companies are shown below in alphabetical order:

Headquartered in California, the Great Place to Work Institute is at the centre of an international network of consultants.

The evaluation of companies is based on international standards and regulations established in all countries, where Great Place to Work® has a presence. The General Manager of Great Place to Work® Cyprus, Kyriacos Iacovides, describes how the companies were selected:

“To be eligible for participation in the list, a company must achieve a pre-set required eligibility score in the employee survey Trust Index©. This differentiates the Great Place to Work® methodology from all other approaches.

At the end of the day, what makes more sense in evaluating the workplace environment is how employees themselves ‘experience’ the culture, and this is what the survey accounts for. Additionally, companies are also required to successfully complete the Culture Audit©, which presents the policies and strategies pursued by the leadership in order to build a great workplace environment.”

Even though this is the first year that the Best Workplaces™ are presented in Cyprus, Great Place to Work® has a 30- year experience world-wide in 70 countries.

“Each year, including the troublesome 2020, about 10,000 companies all over the world choose to evaluate their workplace environment through Great Place to Work® as a way of gaining insights and, consequently, making improvements but also to achieve certification and recognition,” Kyriacos Iacovides explains.

Asked about the value of the Great Place to Work® assessment process and its Certification and Recognition practices, he commented:

“All companies that went through the evaluation, regardless of whether they have achieved certification or not, should be congratulated and should be an example for the rest. The management of these companies has chosen to allow their own employees to assess the quality of their workplace environment, finding out what is done well and what should be improved, and using a methodology that is  acknowledged as trustworthy worldwide.

In other words, they decided that it is wiser for them to know, rather not to know or to assume they know. Our goal is to achieve what has been done in other countries: To make our employee engagement survey an important tool for any company which wants to create an exceptional workplace culture and a more promising future.

Additionally, we are confident that the Great Place to Work® Certification and Recognition we offer, will be established as the brand that distinguishes top employers of choice. We are grateful for the support and cooperation we have from our Academic Advisors, the University of Cyprus, MSc in Human Resources Management.”
