A new exhibition by well-known Cypriot painter George Kotsonis will open on Friday at Nicosia’s Gloria Gallery. As an established artist, Kotsonis has taken part in many solo and group exhibitions both in Cyprus and abroad. His works are in private and public collections and this month.

“George Kotsonis crystallises the vision of a contemporary and at the same time classical artist. In his work, currents of Western Europe and Byzantine influences meet in a creative admixture, stylistic osmosis and ingenuity, where the morphological balance and finish predominate,” said art critic Dr Natia Anaxagorou.

“His design skills are channelled into a dialectically structured and consciously controlled expression. Every touch is deposited on the canvas with reverent attention and every accent with precision, so that the colour projects a comprehensive and complex through the overlapping pulses and vibrations of an endless layering”.
