Man faces arson charge after 200 hay bales set on fire

Paphos police arrested a 38-year-old farmer late on Wednesday for setting fire to 200 bales of hay in his field.

The fire started around 5am in the Paphos field, destroying 200 round bales of hay valued at €8,000. The suspect, who is the owner of the field, was arrested late at night.

Police sources told the Cyprus Mail the fire was set intentionally. The man is facing charges of arson.
