Car damaged by fire in Pyla

A car in Pyla was extensively damaged from fire that broke out on the vehcicle early on Saturday.

The fire service said they were alerted at around 2.30am that a vehicle in Pyla was on fire. The car was parked outside its owner’s residence.

Two engines went on site and put out the blaze, but the vehicle, estimated to cost around €5,000, was extensively damaged.

The fire service, police and the state electromechanical services are investigating what caused the fire.
