Paphos criminal court on Tuesday ruled a 25-year-old man guilty on 18 counts of sexual abuse of a minor on different charges, and set July 7 as the date for sentencing.

The offences were committed against a female school pupil.

According to the court, the offences took place between June 2019 and January 2020 in the defendant’s car, but also through the use of mobile phones.

The court said the 25-year-old would, among other things, take photos and record videos of the minor, both during the commission of the “illegal act” and while the two conversed via video call.

The defendant also uploaded to Instagram two pictures of the minor, which were screenshots from a video recording.

He also lied to the girl about his age.
