TGIF: how to make a classic daiquiri

Here at Good Living, we like to mark the end of the working week with a TGIF recipe… A little note of indulgence with which to treat yourself over the weekend, hopefully catching your breath as you cook, bake or mix something that’s a tiny celebration.

In this video, Cara Devine, host of the Behind the Bar YouTube channel, demos how to mix the perfect daiquiri.

The daiquiri represents a family of cocktails whose main ingredients are rum, citrus juice (typically lime) and sugar or other sweetener, and is perennially associated with Cuban drinking culture.

Considered a badge of honour amongst bartenders, as it is so simple yet equally easy to mess up, the classic daiquiri’s simple combination of lime, sugar and white rum has stood the test of time, and learning to master the balance of these three ingredients is well worth the effort.

Why not give this recipe a go over the weekend, to savour the flavour of Cuba at home?
