How a blind rescue dachshund lights up his human home

Every pet deserves a loving and respectful home: please only consider acquiring a pet if you will be able to take care of its long-term needs. Also, consider choosing your animal companion from a shelter, where there are so many wonderful furry friends who need a forever home.

In this video, we meet Jack, a little dachshund who lost his sight, becoming completely blind and living in terror of even the tiniest noise in his surroundings.

When he was no longer needed as a breeder, Jack’s fate looked uncertain. Fortunately though, his human mum, Julie, who had experienced the vulnerability of impaired vision herself, was able to bring him home, gradually opening up a world of comfort and joy for the blind little dachshund.

Today, thanks to a system of connected words and behaviours, Jack can navigate his environment safely, radiating enthusiasm and affection, all day long. He truly lights up the life and home of his human family.
