Man found growing cannabis plants arrested

Paphos police arrested a 21-year-old man late on Sunday who allegedly had two cannabis plants in his garden.

The suspect was initially stopped by members of the drug squad while he was driving in a specific area of the district on Sunday afternoon.

Officers found a small quantity of cannabis in his possession and arrested the young man.

The two plants, each 40cm high, were found planted in the suspect’s garden during a search of his house that followed the arrest.

During the search, police also found 20 more grammes of cannabis.
