Coronavirus: Police fined 39 people and 6 businesses after 4,004 checks

Police booked 39 individuals and six businesses in Limassol, Paphos and Famagusta in the 24 hours until 6am on Monday, after 4,004 nationwide checks for coronavirus measures violations.

Twenty people, including a business owner, were fined in Limassol after 668 checks, while another 15 individuals and three establishments were booked in Famagusta after 900 checks.

In Paphos, five people and two businesses were booked after 505 checks.

Officers also carried out 669 checks in Nicosia, 644 in Larnaca and 254 in Morphou without resulting in any bookings.

No violations were reported by the traffic and marine police after 364 and 78 checks respectively.

Breaches in coronavirus measures include failure to wear a face mask and carry a SafePass among others.
