Paphos police have arrested a 54-year-old man as it investigates a case of assault and causing grievous bodily harm, the Cyprus News Agency reported on Friday.

This follows a complaint filed by a 65-year-old livestock farmer who told police he had received a phone call to meet the suspect in the latter’s field of legumes to see damage caused by the former’s flock. The discussion became heated and the two reportedly came to blows.

The suspect then drove the complainant to the A&E of Paphos General Hospital. Doctors diagnosed a broken finger, dizziness, and abrasions to the head. After administering stitches, they admitted him to hospital for monitoring.

The suspect was arrested, charged in writing, and released to appear in court on a later date.
