Traffic at Larnaca and Paphos Airports is satisfactory, with some 670,000 passengers having flown to the island to date, Transport Minister Yiannis Karousos told CyBC on Thursday.

By the end of August, passenger arrivals may reach 900,000, he added.

Arrivals are currently at 61 per cent of 2019, while occupancy of airplanes is at 73.5 per cent.

The minister said it was particularly important that 70 per cent of flights were from countries other than Russia, Greece and the UK, noting that this proves that schedules to Cyprus from other countries, mainly EU member states, can be profitable.
