Paphos police have arrested an 18-year-old man after a home was broken into and jewellery estimated to be worth €2,800 was taken.

A 54-year-old woman reported that the jewellery had been stolen on August 1, leading to an investigation which included the monitoring of CCTV footage from the area around the house.

This led to the identification of the 18-year-old who was then arrested by the police and subsequently confessed to having broken into the 54-year-old woman’s home.

He has been charged and will be called to court at a later date.
