Police said Saturday they have arrested two youths who had been caught speeding in two separate cases in Nicosia and Larnaca.

One of them was arrested at 2.10am after he was clocked by officers doing 115km in a 50km zone on Arhangelos Avenue in Strovolos.

The 22-year-old driver was taken to Ayios Dhometios police station where he was charged and released to appear before court at a later date.

A few hours before, at around 10.40pm Friday, officers caught a driver on the motorway near the exit to Zygi doing 193km. The legal limit is 100km.

The driver failed to stop when flagged by police, “driving recklessly and dangerously.”
