Coronavirus: 33 fined for violating measures

A total of 33 citizens were fined for violations of Covid-19 measures in 24 hours, police said on Monday morning.

A police spokesperson said that 3,405 checks were carried out in the 24 hours up to 6am on Monday. Of these, 1,429 checks were in Nicosia, where four individuals were fined, while in Limsasol from 173 checks five people were fined.

In Larnaca, from 596 checks two people were fined, in Paphos from 201 checks four were reported, in Famagusta after 482 checks, 14 people were reported and in the Morphou area two were fined after 350 checks.

Traffic police carried out 143 checks and the Port and Maritime Police another 31. No individuals were reported.
