Coronavirus: Three businesses, 16 individuals booked for breaking decrees

Three businesses were booked for a total of €2,000 for violating coronavirus measures, police said on Wednesday.

A gym in Paphos received a €1,000 fine for failing to check its clients for a SafePass and for allowing an employee to work without a SafePass while two other businesses in Nicosia and Limassol were also booked €500 each.

The fines were part of the 2,767 checks during which 16 individuals were also booked.

Eight people were booked in Limassol after 242 checks, four in Nicosia after 735 checks and two in Famagusta after 435 inspections.

Larnaca officers carried out 510 checks and booked one person, while another was booked in Paphos after 172 checks.

No violations were reported in Morphou following 193 inspections.

Traffic, marine and port police also carried out 248 and 232 checks respectively without any bookings.
