Firefighters managed to bring a wildfire in Paphos, between the village of Nata and Kelokedara, under control on Friday afternoon, the fire service said.
According to fire service spokesman Andreas Kettis, the fire burned eight hectares of dry grass, wild vegetation, and trees.
Firefighters were putting out smaller fronts, which were still burning, he said.
The fire started at around 3pm. Nine fire engines assisted by five water-dropping aircraft were dispatched to the scene.
