Arrest after man stabbed with kitchen knife

Police investigating the stabbing of a man aged 32 have arrested another aged 30.

After receiving information at about 2.23 on Saturday afternoon that one man had injured another with a knife during an incident at a Nicosia flat, police visited the scene.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to hospital where the wound was treated and he is waiting to be released.

Outside the apartment building the police saw a man who matched the description given of the person who had stabbed the injured man who was arrested.

Police took a kitchen knife from the kitchen of the flat which is believed to be the knife used to stab the victim.
