Coronavirus: Three stopped crossing to north with fake rapid test results

Police on Friday said that three people tried to cross to the north presenting fake rapid tests over last weekend.

Three people, aged 29, 34 and 36, visited the Astromeritis crossing point at around 11.45am on October 17 and presented a printed document showing negative rapid test results for coronavirus.

Police said that suspicions were raised as to the documents, so the three were taken to the police station.

The group admitted to committing the crime during their statements to the police.

They were charged in writing and then released.
