Teenage driver arrested after hitting pedestrian

A teenager driver was arrested late on Thursday in Limassol after hitting a pedestrian who is intubated in serious condition at the hospital.

The accident occurred around 9pm when the car of an 18-year-old woman, under conditions that are being investigated, hit a 44-year-old man who was walking on Kolonakiou avenue.

The man was transferred via ambulance to the district’s general hospital, where he was diagnosed with serious head and neck injury as well as brain haemorrhage.

Due to the seriousness of his condition, he was intubated and taken to the Nicosia general hospital for treatment.

The driver underwent an alcohol test and a narcotest that both came back negative.
