Teenager arrested for knife attack

A 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assaulting two people with a knife over the summer, police said on Wednesday.

The case was reported to the police by two men, 18 and 21, who said that around 10.30pm on August 6 this year, they were at the old port in Limassol when they entered a verbal argument with an unknown man.

According to their statement, the man assaulted them with a knife and injured them before the two managed to take the weapon from him.

Then, the suspect fled on foot to an unknown location.

Police said the two injured men received first aid at the district’s general hospital.

During police investigations, evidence emerged against the teenager, who was arrested on Monday.
