The fire services brought under control a fire that broke out in the Akoursos community in the Paphos district and spread into the yards of three houses, fire service spokesman Andreas Kettis said on Friday morning.
The blaze started around 10.15am outside the community in the Mavrokolimbos area. As of 11.30am, it had spread inside houses’ yards with the fire service saying it protected at least three houses.
It was brought under control around two hours after it started by the forestry department.
Three firefighting aircraft were also at the scene, the spokesman added.
Firefighting forces remained at the area to monitor the situation.
The causes of the fire will be investigated in collaboration with the police, but it appears to have started from a ravine, Kettis said.
