Yellow weather warning issued for storms overnight, Wednesday

A yellow weather warning was issued on Tuesday for heavy rainfall and possible hail overnight and into Wednesday.

The meteorological service said that from 8pm until 5pm on Wednesday isolated, intense storms are expected to affect the region.

Precipitation is expected to be between 35 and 50 millimetres per hour while there is possibility of hail.

According to the weather forecast, snow is expected in Troodos on Wednesday.

The temperature is expected to be 17C inland and the coastal areas and 7C in the higher mountainous areas.

On Thursday, there will be occasional clouds. On Friday the weather will be mostly clear, but gradually it will become partly cloudy. On Saturday the weather is expected to be mostly clear.

The temperature is to rise on Thursday above the seasonal average, while no significant change is expected on Friday and Saturday.
