The total sales of motor vehicles decreased by 9.4 per cent year-on-year between January and November of 2021, according to a report by the Cyprus Statistical Service (Cystat).

Meanwhile, total registrations in November fell by 38.1 per cent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

In pure numbers, the total registrations of motor vehicles fell to 32,698 between January and November of 2021, 3381 down from the 36,079 vehicles registered in the corresponding period last year.

Registrations of saloon passenger cars decreased by 10.5 per cent and reached 25,067, compared to 28,000 in the corresponding period of 2020.

Of the total saloon passenger cars, 10,117 or 40.4 per cent were new and 14,950 or 59.6 per cent were used cars.

Between January and November of 2021, the total registrations of new vehicles increased by 9.6 per cent, while the corresponding registrations of used vehicles decreased by 21.3 per cent year-on-year.

Moreover, in November 2021, total motor vehicle registrations decreased by 38.1 per cent year-on-year, falling to 2,353 registrations, with saloon car sales falling by 427 per cent to 1,726.

In November, sales of new vehicles decreased by 19 per cent, while sales of used vehicles fell by 49.5 per cent.

The Marfields Group, a construction company that has been designing and developing high-end, high-rise residential projects over the past decade, has unveiled additional details on its Ritz Carlton Residences project in Limassol.

The new tower, situated along Limassol’s coastal road, will be 33 stories tall, divided into 182 apartments in total, in one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom formats.

The building will include specially designed exterior garden areas, interior pools and a spa facility.

The interior design has been assigned to Dubai-based Kristina Zanic Consultants FZ, whose eponymous founder has been a prominent figure in interior design in Asia and the Middle East.

The main Cyprus Stock Market Index was at 66.54 points at 13:25 during the day, reflecting a rise of 0.24 per cent over the previous day of trading.

The FTSE / CySE 20 Index was at 39.84 points, which represents a 0.23 per cent increase.

The total value of transactions came up to €87,454.

In terms of sub-indexes, the main index fell by 0.1 per cent, while the alternative index rose by 0.36 per cent. The hotel and investment firm indexes remained stable.

The biggest investment interest was attracted by the Bank of Cyprus (+1.96 per cent), Salamis Tours (no change), Pandora (+0.74 per cent), Louis (-19.5 per cent) and Demetra Holdings (no change).
