SupportCY, the social responsibility network created by the Bank of Cyprus, has moved into its own space, which will now house services related to its mission and provide a place to hold events.

The network was formed in 2020 as part of the Bank’s social responsibility initiative, bringing together businesses and bodies across the board, all working towards alleviating the effects of the pandemic.

Located between Ledra and Onasagorou streets near Eleftheria Square, SupportCY House was inaugurated on December 15 in the presence of several officials.

“SupportCY House is the heart of the largest social capital investment in Cyprus, a cooperative aiming to eliminate social inequality through constant, targeted actions,” Bank of Cyprus CEO Panikos Nicolaou said at the event.

“At the Bank of Cyprus, we are proud of SupportCY, not only because it creates socio-economic capital in our country, but also because it further strengthens the awareness for social contribution to those who really need it.”

The state-of-the-art, fully-equipped space will house the operations of the network created as part of the initiative, which includes over 130 members, corporations, NGOs and educational institutions.

It will also be a base for receptions, training programmes, press conferences and any other uses pertaining to its mission.

Bank of Cyprus Social Responsibility Manager Elli Ioannidou thanked everyone participating in the initiative, adding that “SupportCY is here to stay”.

Commissioner for the Citizen Panayiotis Sentonas, who attended on behalf of President Nicos Anastasiades, conveyed the president’s congratulations for both the network, and its actions so far, which have channelled over €650,000 into Cypriot society through products, services and grants.
