Coronavirus: Latsia health centre to stop acting as walk-in vaccination point

An Elderly Man Receives A Vaccine Against The Coronavirus Disease (covid 19) At The Health Centre Of Latsia In The Capital Nicosia

The vaccination centre in Latsia, from Wednesday will temporarily stop operating as a walk-in, the health ministry said on Monday.

The reason for this is to decongest the centre to allow the motherhood centre also operating there, to offer a smoother service for the vaccination of children aged five to 11, the ministry said.

As of Wednesday, the vaccination centre at the Latsia health centre will offer services to:

  • People who book an appointment for a booster jab (Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech) through the vaccination portal.
  • Those who already have a scheduled vaccination for the second dose of Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech provided that the first dose was administered at the same centre.
  • Vaccinations for children.

As of Tuesday the vaccination of children aged five to 11 will be possible only with appointments through the vaccinations portal. Appointments may be booked from 00.01am Tuesday.

The ministry urged people wishing to get vaccinated at a walk-in to do so at the one operating at the state fair in Engomi.
