Coronavirus: 36 fined for breaking measures

Nine businesses and 27 individuals were fined for breaking coronavirus decrees in the 24 hours leading up to 6am on Monday as police around the island carried out 2,182.

In Nicosia, eight people and eight establishments were reported, out of 398 checks, in Limassol five people and one establishment was reported out of 305 checks, in Larnaca there were 584 checks, out of which three people were reported, in Paphos five citizens were reported after 116 checks, in Famagusta there were 477 checks with six people being reported and in Morphou there were 162 checks, with no one being reported.

Police said most of the fines issued to individuals were for not wearing a mask. The largest fine handed out was €1,500, while the violations of most establishments had to do with managers or employees not having a SafePass.
